Permanent Hair Removal

If you’re dealing with unwanted hair growth, Electrolysis is the solution

What is Electrolysis? Is electrolysis safe?

Electrolysis is the only FDA-recognized method of permanent hair removal, and it has been safely performed for over 100 years. Unlike temporary methods such as shaving, threading, or waxing, electrolysis permanently destroys the hair follicle so the hair cannot grow back. If you're looking for permanent hair removal in Decatur, GA, electrolysis is the most precise and proven solution available.

Why choose Electrolysis over laser hair removal ?

Electrolysis works on all hair colors and all skin tones. Unlike laser, which relies on pigment, electrolysis treats each follicle individually. This makes it an effective and precise solution for hair that laser cannot remove. Laser can be faster for reducing hair over larger areas such as the legs or back, however it is still not permanent. Laser can sometimes trigger paradoxical hypertrichosis (increased hair growth), especially on the face. Electrolysis does not stimulate more hair growth. Electrolysis does not target pigment or use light-based energy, so there is no risk of laser-related burns. For clients who only have a few coarse or stray hairs, electrolysis is often more practical and cost-effective than committing to multiple laser sessions.

Electrolysis is especially beneficial for:

  • Blonde, gray, red, or fine facial hair

  • Hormonal hair growth (including PCOS-related hair)

  • Stubborn hairs left behind after laser treatments

  • Small, detailed areas like the eyebrows or upper lip

  • Clients undergoing gender-affirming procedures

  • Delicate areas such as around the eyebrows, moles, or tattoos

For those looking for a permanent, reliable, and detail-focused solution — especially for facial or hormonally influenced hair — electrolysis is often the preferred choice.

How Long Does It Take to See Permanent Results?

Smaller areas with fine to medium hair (such as the upper lip) may be cleared within a few months of consistent sessions. Larger areas with dense, deeper, or coarser hairs typically require more time. On average, most clients see permanent clearance within 12–24 months, some longer. After an area is cleared, occasional maintenance visits may be recommended to catch any new hairs that were previously dormant.

What Areas of the Body Can Be Treated?

Electrolysis can safely treat almost any area of the body, including:

  • Upper lip

  • Chin

  • Eyebrows

  • Sideburns

  • Underarms

  • Bikini line

  • Stomach

  • Back

  • Chest

  • Legs

  • Arms

  • Fingers and toes

The only exceptions are the inside of the nostrils and the ear canal. No work in the genital area is being performed at MochaBella Spa due to table limitations.
